Hello chinaFitter!!!
Just wanted to tell you that I like your site! I like how you promote health and fitness without the ‘traditional’ or ‘old’ wisdoms of boring cardio and calorie restriction. It was really the right time for me to find your site. I have always been involved in sports: tennis (13 years), karate (5 years), weight lifting (6 years) and running (2 years). I stopped tennis and karate when I was still in high school and I started running when I started going to university. I ran for 2 years – marathons and ultramarathons. I have never trained so much in my life like in those two years – sometimes up to 20 hours in one week. Generally 6 times a week running and 2-3 times weight lifting. I was really really lean (low body fat) and could run for long distances easily, but I was always tired and exhausted. I was also losing more and more muscle as I got better at running…I could also not keep up with eating enough food to keep my body fueled. A fitness coach told me I was not eating enough at 3000kcal a day!
Luckily I stopped. Training for hours every day is no life, and I kept on getting slimmer and slimmer. Not healthy, not strong, not good-looking.
Right now I lift weights about twice a week, one set only and max 2-3 exercises in one day. I add one day of interval training where I have to thank sister Shu here for providing some creative routines. My body fat % is slightly higher than when I was running a lot, but I am sure to lose some more with the interval training. I have read a lot about how good it is and I am really glad that chinafitter promotes this – and especially that women do real intensive exercises!!! Really nice!
Look at my picture. I guess I am at around 13% body fat (haven’t measured it) and 75kg. I train no more than 2 hours a week and feel a lot better than when I used to train so much.
Thank you!!!
